Scientific Research Institute of Physical-Chemical Medicine (SRI PCM) has a status of a federal state budgetary institution of science (FSBIS). It operates under the authority of the Federal Medical & Biological Agency (FMBA). The institute’s acronym is “SRI PCM FMBA of Russia”.

The institute aims to develop and introduce into clinical practice new agents and methods for diagnostics, prevention, and treatment of human diseases, through investigation of the physical-chemical bases of pathogenesis.

SRI PCM provides educational and training opportunities for students from the N.I. Pirogov Russian State Medical University (the departments of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Experimental and Theoretical Chemistry of the Medical-Biological Faculty), from the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (the Department of Medical and Biological Physics and the Operative Surgical Skills Course of the Faculty of Basic Medicine), and from the Moscow Physical Technical Institute (the Department of Molecular Medicine of the Faculty of Molecular and Biological Physics).
